Hello! My name is Daniel Garnet and I am a board-certified radiologist who specializes in minimally invasive procedures. I grew up in the Midwest but spent most of my adult life on the East Coast. I currently work and live in Essex County New Jersey with my wife and 4 children.
After completing a 4-year undergraduate degree at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, I went to Tufts University Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts where I earned my Medical Degree and was first introduced to Interventional Radiology (IR). My internship and residency in Diagnostic Radiology were at Winthrop-University Hospital in Long Island, New York. After this, I went to one of the top Interventional Radiology fellowship programs in the country, the University of Pennsylvania.
For me, IR has been the perfect marriage between technological advancement and my desire to help patients. IR is a specialty composed of board-certified physicians who use image guidance to deliver minimally invasive, targeted treatments with a quick recovery. IRs help treat many of today’s toughest medical problems, including cancers, vascular diseases, and men’s and women’s health conditions. IR has allowed me to reach out and help nearly every other specialty care for their patients while also being able care longitudinally for my own.
Breakthroughs in technology and imaging have created new treatment choices for patients. In this new era of medicine, personalized medicine means doing the right thing for each patient. I created this site to help shine a light on minimally invasive procedures we offer to patients as well as to provide a way for patients and their families to reach me directly as there can be many roadblocks to communication.
Unfortunately, it has never been easier to get lost in the intricacies of health care and insurance. Patients or their families need to advocate for themselves now more than ever. All too often I have found patients and their families need an understanding ear and a “community” just as much as they need a pill or procedure.
